Welcome to The Sims United Kennel Club! Here you and your TS3 dogs can participate in a wide variety of sporting and conformation shows. We welcome all players and kennels to our forum to participate in the festivities. Established in 2014, the SUKC has been working hard to create the largest international all breed dog performance registry. Our extensive event opportunities highlight the dog's natural capability while tapping into each breed's heritage and utilizing every piece that made up the puzzle. What makes us different? Our focus on community, this is a place for fun and at the end of the day we make that our first priority. Charming competition and amiable peers make this place what it is, we plan to keep it that way.
well i thinked to share ideas anyway, if something is already under work then i'm happy. ye the second poit was difficult, but my idea was for someting automatic, don't want to give more work on poor Dawne. about bookmark ye, but i think bookmark only the dog/dogs people has interested in should be better; instead of check the whole auction everytime, me /or anyone else) get a "spam" notifications so you know who outbid you and on what dog, and ofc, comments like that will give timestamps too about the funds ye sadly no ideas came in my mind....for now
I agree with Kara! It is unfair if some people bid a huge amount of money on multiple dogs. I thought we all here have the grace to bid only on one, two dogs or in small amounts and not immediately $10000.. so that other members have also a chance. I'm a little bit disappointed. That's why I suggested general rules.
bidding over own funds is one thing...bidding on multiple dogs when have funds is another... also if a dog start from 100$ or 10.000$ isn't the same? lets make an example dog A: starting bid $ 100...reach 1.000$ in less then a hour... dob B: starting bid is 1.000 $.... both dogs reach the same amount, if a person cannot pay that amount, than whats the difference? if we look deep in every auction type, there will be always who win and who loose... randomize auction? could be unlucky... tickets? = 2 options, if you don't have money you get free tickets...but if you have money you can buy more tickets = then you got pounced for buy multiple tickets and probably be an "easy win" timer auction? = if you bid some seconds/minutes before auction end, is unfair.... and why people have to choose between the dogs if they can affort them and are able to show them? i still don't find the sense of starting low or high, even if i sound rude, but if i don't have money, i will not "win" the dog if reach that particular amount, even if start from 100$ or to 10k...i will feel bad anyway because can't affort it/them... and if you put "cap" on amount (like start bid is 100 and end is 10.000) the fight would end unfair too... as sayd...not gettin a dog hurt a lot (even if we talk about pixel, but everyone of us know dogs here are special) for what concerme my self (because lets be sincere, that is mostly toward me since the one that bidded on 10k on the dog is me) i could bid even 50k...that would be unfair...instead i bid 10k "only" as many others dogs reach that, and bidded "so high" simply to avoid wait days and days...i could even wait a week but as state on chat days ago, it was hard to me to give up on that silken, and i stood low on bid anyway... general rules are ok, but remember that people will ALWAYS complain about dogs/bids for any random reasons...this time if the amount of bid because is easy to point who have money. btw my ideas was only to see if we could reach a solution for the timestamp of comments, glad that is already under construction. also my apologises if my high bid hurted people so much, didn't want to fight or anything like that just, as sayd, "speed the process"

just so people know what we can do, can not do, and what we are working on and what we have already done.
We will not make "General Rules" as we want auctions to be held and managed by the host. It's up to them how they want to run an auction
Auctions do not stop at a high price(i.e. $10,000) that's just not how an auction is run. And buying tickets for an auction is a raffle, not an auction.
Hosters are allowed to use timers as they see fit, but we won't enforce it.
We are working on seeing if we can add timestamp to a comment. No guarantee though
Also we've adjusted the rules for the club's auctions and raffles to state you are not allowed to bid on any dogs more than the amount you have in your bank. i.e. Kara's example. So you can go read the rulebooks about that. Also these rules don't take effect until after this current auction in question. Since it would not be fair to the members who already started their bids.
Unfortunately waiting for the last second to bid is a common practice in auctions and can not be changed.
SK, isnt the point of an auction to outbid each other? Just for fun. Just to have the feeling for having a chance while bidding. And when we reach the $2000 for example and I have no more money, okay you won. Better than to see the $5000 and realize you never had a chance. I don't want to attack you in any case, that's only my opinion and maybe you understand

Safe Haven I see what you mean but isn't it also frustrating that the auction may last for a very long time if one only raises the bid small amounts at a time? It doesn't work quite the same way as in real life. Though I am a hasty personality so I like things resolving fast. Fact is you can never please everyone. This is a sims dog game just for fun. When you start to stress about this and you're no longer having fun, you're doing it wrong, sorry.
Oh I always see this whole thing here only as a game and its not stressing me! I was very satisfied around here. Never before I have complained about something. I wish I hadn't done it this time... it seems to be the bad person very quickly. This time I only thought of the new members, because I read something in the shoutbox. Sorry

I agree, outbiddig is in the nature of auctions, there can only be one winner unfortunately. Bidding in the last second is tactics, I wouldn't necessarily see it unfair (although I never did it but have been done to me and was annoying as hell ) it's just how it is with this type of show... If you would say no more bids in the last 10 minutes, then THAT would be the last second when people make bids so there is always a risk you lose the dog. Just look at e-bay. The same applies there. If you want the stuff, you have to be the fastest and the "richest". I've always thought that auctions are a "rich men's game" but it's still fun anyway. I also missed out on a dog yesterday but will try next time hoping for better luck! This community has wonderful creators and very nice people. If you really want a great quality dog you can't do without I'm sure everyone would be happy to help, I feel it does not depend on the results of some auction if you have a nice dog or not. That's just how I see it anyway...
